btw - there's a new limited edition (450 pcs - July 2010 Toy Show) not in my collection yet - but soon to be :-) So who has a contact for Mattel. If they are willing to do a run of 450 units for a toy show then they should be willing to do a 914World edition of 1000 units. Or am I just crazy to think so. I agree! Someone needs to get on the horn with this... only problem is.... how would we ever agree on the same color?! Or would it be in an orange 914-6 livery? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

I let it go when it hit $30. Too salty for a Matchbox car for me, especially when I have a whole fleet that I can paint any color I want. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Same here, $30 was my limit! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bye1.gif) |

The windshield surround would be factory painted in that color (no masking needed) and the body could be easily removed and painted any color you like. |

oh ... I forgot (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) I already know that there is #2 in this picture: it's a big box with lila stripe on the lower left hand side and says "16 / 100" and "PORSCHE 914": (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/post-2212-1278431552.jpg) does anybody have a spare one - I'd like to trade or buy one (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) I have one with the 2 numbers on the bottom 16/75 distributed in Mexico, it does not have the yellow script above the PORSCHE 914 and does not have the normal AX discription on the back. What do you think? Mike |

I just scored one of the blue 1:450 ones (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) There are a couple on ebay, or were. It is not autographed, and I am happier about that. Saved me a bunch as well.
There are black ones for sale on ebay, has anyone seen black ones in the stores? I know the dark green ones can look black to some, but the pics shown in the ebay ads look genuinely black. |

At first I lusted after a blue one. Then that big assed tramp stamp trunk decal showed up in one of the photos, and that killed it for me.
Great looking car other than that. Like the silver trim and the side stripes. |

I do not like the tramp stamp either, but it is a collectors car (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I will not be opening this one up.

I have finally reached the magic number of 50 of the Matchbox 914s. I also picked up a 914-6 offEbay last night. Of my 50 teeners, all were found and purchased individually with exception of 6 of the dark green.

Hmmm, must be my luck but I still haven't found one.
I guess I'll be buying one of each color off ebay soon as they aren't too expensive yet there. |

My question is , . . . . . exactly what colors for the Matchbox 914 are available . As far as I can figure out is 1)- light green , 2) lime green , 3) a dark , almost British racing green . The $64 question is , is there a Blue color available and has anyone seen it at Target , K-Mart or Toys R' Us ??? Are there any other colors available ? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Thanks for any replies . (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) GTPatrick |

The $64 question is , is there a Blue color available and has anyone seen it at Target , K-Mart or Toys R' Us ??? from my best knowledge it was only available at the 8th annual Matchbox gathering of friends 2010 in Albuquerque I only know the 3 variations of green and the blue metallic one (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |
