Fenders cave in when you filled the side markers? If so, I had the same thing happen to mine.

No cave in. I found some old bondo . Wanted to bump it out a little better before the new filler.
I was there from 8:30am to 7:00pm today with an hour for lunch (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/chowtime.gif) The driver side door was pretty bad. I sanded it to bare metal over 75% of the surface. The old paint was loose and I kept finding surface rust that was covered over last time. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/mad.gif) This is the door that blue painter's tape used as temp a/x numbers would pull the paint off at the end of the day. Tomorrow all the body work should be completed and ready for primer on wednesday. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/mueba.gif) KT |

The entire car is now rough sanded and filler is on all panels except the rear trunk and driver side rear qtr.
Tomorrow we sand out the car to 80 grit and prime and guide coat in the afternoon/early evening. Cure all day thursday ( I'm taking a break ) Friday morning block sand and color/clear coats in the afternoon. Three coats of each color and as many coats of clear that a gallon will spray (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif) KT No pics tonight... |

A gallon of clear?!? Isn't that going to equate to like 20-30 coats? |

NAW... Just did this. Got four good coats on the whole car out of a gallon. Just a smidge left over for some touch up later. (F'in orange peal) |
