We were out of the booth by 9:30 this evening. What a day. The car will now sit until the paint is sandable. I think it may rain tomorrow so it may not be possible to apply the color and clear on Friday. Car needs to sit out in the sun and bake. That's OK, though. KT Attached image(s) |

[QUOTE] Those are obviously "hood pin" holes at the tail of the trunk? I know dumb question. Oh, metal glaze over the Entire trunk lid? Is that normal procedure? |

The metal glaze ends up being transparent in many areas after sanding.
Bondo is funny stuff in the way that it makes you think, "It must be thick". (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) Brandon assured me that the primer would be thicker than most of the bondo. Yep, rear spoiler mounts. KT |

Drain zells???
We dont need no stinking crain bells..... Must be something going on with painters...... Noticed a long time ago that painters: 1. Like pornography- stacks of magazines and calendars in every paint shop I been in... Not that there is anything wrong with that. 2. Usually a "little" wierd...... One guy at one plant wore black shorts, silver suspenders and a black bowler with a silver stripe, (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/unsure.gif) his buddy usta spray the paint and sniff the fog to see if the mix was right.... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/blink.gif) And at another plant, watched a guy run around the paint shop like a monkey and almost deck someone.... : (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif) 3. Don't use masks.... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/barf.gif) Ken |

Do you have any pictures of the roof? Did you "float" the roof to get it smooth? or did you sand it down? |

I bought Randal's old smooth painted top, block sanded it out with 180 grit. Metal glazed a couple of low spots and chips. KT Attached image(s) |

Yep, you are definitely going to be done before I get mine back! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif)
Mine is in primer as we speak and is "supposed" to be painted by this weekend. I think I have heard this song before (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/huh.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif) It is going to look great when done Trekkor, and your design for the stripes and #s looks very cool. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool.gif) If you are going to do a double stripe, how about one in Red metallic and one in blue metallic. With a round white number background. Give you a modern interpretation of the Brumos cars from the late '60s. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) I am still trying to decide what I am going to do with my numbers. Numbers only, probably white or bright yellow. Or round white background with bright orange numbers. |
