Side markers are also done and I took my welder back home tonight. I finished it all today (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif)
Also, the filled channels have 1/8" steel rod stock hammered into the slot just below the surface. I welded each side of the gap to the rod. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smash.gif) Monday will be a Bondo fest. KT Attached image(s) |

I'm having a blast doing all this prep work myself. Brandon is busy working on his projects, so I'm glad not to bother him. KT Attached image(s) |

Is that a smooth silver targa top in the last pic?
Another score from Randal's (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sawzall-smiley.gif) approach to car preparation (read lite weight) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) I am glad Randal is doing such a total rebuild of his entire car along with the motor and I am sure that you (Trekkor) are too. Trekkor,
Are you stripping it all the way down to bare metal, or just rough areas? The body looks pretty straight as it is. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) |

There are some areas on the trunks and doors that have bubbles.
Those places will get the most aggressive prep work. The rest will be a goof scuff before the epoxy primer/sealer goes on. Also, any areas where I find cracking old bondo get the bare metal treatment. Power sanders and 36/40 grit are my friend. KT |
