From what I've gathered, sometime next Fall, 914world is going to "group buy" the entire length of Tail of the Dragon. We'll eliminate speed patrols and declare it open to 914's only. Taildraggers and other P-cars permitted on three pre-selected dates per year. All other cars banned.

Am I close?

That is not going to happen.... much as I would love it, PCA would not permit it. And the MUSR is a PCA sponsored event.

But we are going to do a "tour" there.................

I am still looking at my other schedules but maybe we can make this work..

I have cleared and smoothed out a 2.5 acre field on my property as a place to have small car shows and etc so maybe we could make something like that happen as part of this??

I also will have both driveways paved by then as well as my parking lot (been working on this for a while) and I am purchasing a piece of property adjacent to the shop as well, another good place to park cars..

We could have a small dyno day too, as we have a dynojet chassis dyno on site :-)

I thought you were planning on September? We discussed that. That weekend is the Euro Auto Festival in Spartanburg, and the NASCAR race in Charlotte. You will probably lose everyone from the Carolinas with that weekend.

I am sorry Bob. my original dates were the same as the Red Rock Classic and I also had to dodge the Petite leMans. The other dates I tried were shot down by the hotel already having previous bookings. Therefore I did the best I could to dodge all other activities and still make it early enough so the Northwest guys wouldn't freeze if they wanted to come down. I truely wish I could please all the people all the time but everyone knows that isn't possible. I did the best I could with what few brains I had. My apologies to anyone that this inconveniences. For everybody else, LET'S PARTY!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Dates are set, contract has been drawn up. Any earlier in September puts you too close to Labor Day, and later than what I have puts you too close to Porsche Palooza. I also had to dodge Petite Lemans and then work around the hotels previous bookings.

Sorry Guys, I tried.

Bob,
I nixed the September dates. Too early in the year for the southern folks with no AC, and we also had some conflict with the Red Rocks Classic. We have to consider the 914 events first, other Porsche events second, and other motorsports events last.

I hope this won't keep you from being there.

thank you for doing the scheduling guys, I can hope to be there, but I can probably only plan on attending one 914 event, and I hope it to be MUSR

Clay,
as I said to Donald: I understand, schedules are difficult to do. I just wish someone would have contacted me before you committed to a definite date. He and I discussed a September date that I know did not conflict with anything in the area. October is a very bad time to schedule things in this area because there is so much going on already. I had asked our local 914 guru John Forbes at Black Forest Racing if he could come and probably bring 5-6 914 guys. The October weekend won't work for him (I talked to him earlier - it's also a NASA race weekend) or me either at this point, so no I will probably not make it. I even had our local region change it's DE weekend to accomodate the Sept dates that Donald mentioned.

sorry, but it would have been a good idea to discuss with the local 914 owners before you set a date.

sorry, but it would have been a good idea to discuss with the local 914 owners before you set a date.

When you say "local 914 owners" are you refering to the ones local where I live, the ones local in the Northeast, or northwest or (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) the west coast, east coast. I am sorry Bob but this event is meant for ALL 914 owners, not just the ones local to the location of the event. I did the very best I could to try and not conflict with any other "914" events such as Red Rock Classic, hershey, The East Coast Cookout or any others for that matter. I know we would ALL like to make ALL the events with our fellow teener owners but sometimes logistics have a way of dictating what we can and can't do. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) You mentioned 2 events to me , Petite leMans and the DE. I avoided both of the weekends you mentioned. I have changed the dates 3 times tring to accomodate all but had to decide on something. If someone else has a better plan, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) then let them speak now or forever hold their peace. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif)

Once again I say LET'S PARTY!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

I wish we could please everyone, but 61 years has taught me that you can't. Bob, we will certainly miss you and Nadine and John. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I was looking forward to seeing y'all.

The last time we had it here, it was a lot of fun. Grasshopper did a great job setting it up. I really appreciate the effort that has been put in with the planning. I have put the dates on my calendar with hopes that work and grandchildren don't interfere.

Once again I say LET'S PARTY!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)
