QUOTE(IronHillRestorations @ Apr 7 2020, 11:17 AM) *

I have a request. I'm doing a GT look resto-mod on a 6, and we are using a GT style fiberglass hood.

I'm working on the hood pins and brackets now. The upper two brackets are pretty straight forward, as the brackets already in place with a hole.

I need a measurement on the front hood pin brackets from the center of the pin to the inside corner of the weatherstrip channel, so I can get the pins in the correct location

Armando has the plates illustrated but no location for the front pins.

Did a little bit of measuring for you today. These are pics and diagrams of the Driver (L) front corner area of front trunk.
" I " is the inside mounting plate, which is welded to the lower edge of the weather-strip channel. " II " is the outer plate that mounts to the exterior of the trunk (L) corner. Use the center -punch hole that I've indicated , and simply transfer down onto the inside mount plate. For Passenger ( R ) side...simply flip the patterns 180°

Handy measurements for you. The hood-pin-plate basicially mounts down to the corner of hood= flush to the 2 leading edges.

.. if you are wondering about the green paint residue on the hood, the hood comes from this 914-6 which drove in 1971 in LM. I changed the hood because
the original hood was damaged, a hinge was broken. During this time I was looking for a replacement and found it from this Max Moritz car.

I'm guessing the original fibreglass pieces have been NLA for a long time. I do have a NOS rear bumper though. What are the best replacement parts?

Building the new Left and Right 9146gt header fabrication & mandrel-bending / welding fixtures for an upcoming small production run.
We will also mfg the L + R megaphone " Transitions " into the GT muffler; and also build a Locating Fixture for this style gt muffler (not building mufflers tho). Eventually I'll replicate the tail housing muffler-hanger as well.
The 2 muffler inlets are "Flangeless"...and rely on the Transition megaphones with an id / od slip-fit and gear-clamps to seal.

Found a small cardboard box in a corner of the 924gtr interior ( other car in this deal) ... this center-lock lug socket. It does fit the BBS wheels on the car, that's a good thing ! Our bud Mike informs me that the C/L lug socket was part of another car that he acquired with #40...the Kremer 935 K4- 01 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Mike's 935 Kremer K4, I snapped this pic at the old RIR track.
This appears in Al Holbert's #14 Lowenbrau livery here.
935 K4 also ran in these other liveries; Jagermeister, Fitzpatrick, JDavid. It's currently in different ownership and for sale at Canepa.Attached Image

We have completed the mfg fixtures for the Left and Right 914-6gt racing headers, built directly from the originals (which are in xlnt shape), mandrel bending for the first 12 sets starting this week.
Interfacing Left and Right megaphone-extensions coming up next .

In the 1980's when #40 was displayed at the Sinsheim Auto + Technik Museum, Deutschland. This was when our friend (and broker) Kerry Morse arranged the sale and transportation to the USA . Some other badA$$ cars in view; MBZ silver gullwing, Lancia (Stratos ¿) WEC car , a white 935'ish car ?
