You cannot have both intermittent wipers AND a washer pump. Disconnect the washer pump and you will see the intermittent wiper function work. The problem is the resistance of the washer pump changes the timer function in the intermittent wiper relay.

Sorry, I'm reviving this very old thread 'cause it's full of pertinent info and because @Bartlett 914 apparently still checks in to the forums (I checked (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bye1.gif) ). Anyone electrically brighter than I may know as well.

Is it my understanding that a 924 style wiper switch (with it's separate power wire for a washer pump), is the cure for getting intermittent wipers AND a powered washer pump?

I have a 75 with the 924 wiper thingy. I remember removing a piece of plastic to allow the arm to activate the intermittent switch below the off position. Besides that my car came with intermittent wipers and they always worked. It has the black box/relay next to the master cylinder reservoir. I did have to replace it once in over 30 years of ownership.

OK, but i'm trying to verify that with a 924 style switch, you can get both but separate:
1) intermittent wipers function thru the intermittent circuit & relay by itself
2) AND also power to a washer pump thru it's separate wire, by itself

ps- I know about year models, relays, and plastic tabs, etc..
