Hey all, just want to know if there are any more in the hopper someplace before I try to get this article together. The photos are in and perfectly usable... so many thanks to all of you on that score!

Sorry to dissapoint you. I started off good, but it soon washed down to a "laundry list"
I tried to pick it up again a couple of times, but inspiration levels are low past 2.00 in the morning (which is currently the only time I have to work on it) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

cheers,

Jeroen

Jeroen,

Thanks for even trying~! I know about busy-ness -- I have no idea how this next issue will get done by next Friday, but I know it will. Ah, I think I remember three-day weekends were nice...

Hey Pete,

I've got the ad ready, but I've got no idea what to do with it or were to send it
And I think Brads out of town (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

Can you e-mail me any specifics?
jeroen@berloth.nl

Thanks...

I have one partial complete that I would like to submitt. It is actually one that I was working on with Slits. My cat disappered 2 days and I have been distracted mentaly with my morning. If I can be grated two more days, I would like to finish and submit it. It would be an article written by two people. Would that be a problem?

Yup. No problem.

I am slammed. So anyone who can get it done by Monday morning is still eligible. BTW, can anybody paste in SLITS' two poems to this thread?

Jeroen, the specs:

4.75 x 4.75 inches
Best option at this late date is a 300 dpi CMYK flattened TIFF file
BUT we can accept Quark files as well as others
Best to call Holly at 415 382-2860 with any other questions

BTW, got the latest two photo CDs and they are nice, nice, NICE. (and so professional with their editing and contact sheets). Teh winnar of the photo contest is already on the contents page (albeit small) and I didn't even point the art director to it -- he picked it on his own.

So it must be a winner indeed...

We just need the text to knock my socks off. What I've got is pretty good, but they all seem to need names, details, etc. Those who've submitted, take another peek and get into the who-what-where-how-when in SPECIFIC terms if I'm gonna print these. Then fax me a new version if you want in...

So appreciative of those who have helped out! (where's a smiley with tears when you need one?!?!?!) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Thanks, I had the dimensions right as well as the file format (300dpi CMYK tiff)
I'll call Holly and ask about the deadline and where to mail it

cheers,

Jeroen

PS if the deadline for the WCC story has been moved to monday, I'll give mine another try (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

that would be totally bitchin' if a foreigner wrote the piece. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) I can't believe how good your english is. Brad had me believing you couldn't speak or understand it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) I felt like such an idiot. When I was talking to you, I was speaking slowly, and I was surprised as hell you understood me. Gullible much? <_<

For the life of me, I don't understand why but here's a couple (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

The engines are now quiet and the voices stilled,
The memories of the days are still a thrill,
Some came dressed in finery and some came tattered,
The fact that they all ran was all that mattered.

Old friends I saw, new friends I made,
For those days, the world was our stage,
For those who dreamed and created the reality,
I can only thank and thank very meaningfully.

The 70+ cars, I'm sure each have a soul that was to be,
Seeing their sisters and brothers alive gave them glee,
Fail their owners not was their creed,
And the dream came to be.

The rumble of the fours far out numbered the others,
But the sixes roared and the eights thundered,
And all in all the sounds blended graciously,
And created a song, a beautiful song of harmony.

I stand in awe of the sights I have seen,
100+ smiles giving off a gleam,
And for those who could not make it there,
Thoughts of you filled our minds and scented the air.

Ok, Ok, this attempt I will quit,
But it's stuck in my mind, just giving me fits,
So this post, I will just in this way end,
This has to happen again.

And another:

There was this fellow called Zois,
Who's ass he showed as his favorite choice,
But alas his ass resembled his face,
So he removed his avatar in sheer disgrace.

A thing of beauty he extolled,
Just left the rest of the world absolutely dead cold,
For beneath the hair and in the crack,
A deadly mold had taken ahold fast.

It grew on his ass, it grew on his face,
Even the bunny ears were infected with this lace,
It became so bad, as I am told,
No one would by his parts, they were coverd with this mold.

One fine day a dream just might come true,
A delousing truck has come into view,
With a firehose here and a helicopter bucket there,
He and ass were eventually covered quite fair.

Beneath this mass as it began to die,
Came the most unearthly cry,
For as the mold died he looked in a mirror,
And found that his face was quite queer.

A part down the middle which was quite deep,
No nose one could see, it was buried quite deep,
A mouth so small, you could hardly tell it was one at all,
Beneath it hung something resembling a ball.

So let it be known both far and wide,
Mr Zois about his beauty did really lie,
For hairy and gross both ends stayed,
Ain't nothing can change that, not even FDS spray.

And finally:

There is a man named Howard,
Who by any means is not a coward,
In his whale, he stepped on the gas,
Ah by god, he dirtied his ass.

Into the corner it screamed,
The ass end coming around to be seen,
As the smoke from the tires disapated,
He found he was no longer constipated.

This mini monster I must sell,
Earlier than I want it'll put me in hell,
Suzi is just more my speed,
Driving her I surely won't soil my seat.

A hard choice indeed,
To tame that mighty steed,
Or sit back and relax,
Driving Suzi to keep regular he'll need Exlax.

Ok Pete - have fun with it all.

These damn poems! They're AMAZING! Alright, the stories are in and the race between 3.5 stories appears to be down to Ron Meier and Jeroen.

Decision to come shortly....
