1975-2.0 FI Stock motor

I purchased a new VDO 0-80 PSI gauge and dual sender from a vendor we all use and like...

The gauge does not read...The idiot light does go out on the dash once the motor reaches RPM's and I slaved in a direct pressure gauge to make sure I had pressure...plenty of pressure...

A test light from the battery to each (dual sender) post on the sender...test light goes out once the motor reaches RPM's...

The post on the sender that leads to the gauge... should it produce voltage, if so how much ??? Milivolts or can a standard voltmeter pick it up...

Single wire from sender to gauge rings out good with ohm meter and bell ringer...

Which do I send back for warranty, the gauge or the sender ??? Probably both ...

Any ideas I haven't tried...

2-OH!

The sender doesn't produce a voltage, but varies in resistance as pressure changes (for std. VDO, it's 10ohms at min pressure, 180ohms at max pressure, more or less), so use the ohms setting on your meter.

You can also check the gauge, which should show max deflection if you jumper the G post to +, and min deflection if you jumper the G post to - (with + hooked to +12 and - hooked to ground).
