How I hate those 2 chicanes- safety or not they are a crime against all of racing. I can understand getting rid of the old run & start for safety, but the Mulsanne Straight was the stuff of legends. |

Put those 200 mph cars in the hands of amateur club racers, bad stuff happens. My buddy ran this a couple of years ago, has nighttime in car video from his 356, a gt40 passed on the mulsanne (cleanly). But when the gt40 hit clean air he got light, drifted across the road, tapped the rail, spun a couple of times tapping the other rail a little harder and wound up coasting facing forward. Could have been real bad, he got lucky. |
