Anyone out there have a gear set to drop my RPM on the freeway. Any help would be appreciated. Check with Mike (Dr evil) he will have them. When I rebuilt mine with him a couple years ago I used ha and x for 4 and 5, I think that ha was flipped to make the 5 like a 5.5 or so and the 4 is just a bit more than regular. I get almost 500 -600 less rpm at freeway speed which gives me about 32mpg on my 75 2.0. But I stay in 4th now on the local hwy at 60 mph or under. The only draw back was up in t he mountain s at Octeenerfest. But that time I would have preferred to have the standard 4th gear. I have a standard box too and might put that in for a future mountain trip. |
