That's right folks, I left the red headed burger queen and now I'm the head fryolater for the clown (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) Seriously though I started werking part time for a guy who has a shop servicing European cars. He has several Restoration jobs sitting with no body man. I've kept quiet because I didn't want to jinx the whole deal. It seemed to good to be true! I have officially gone full time, gotten a raise and keys to the shop so I guess it is safe now (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/unsure.gif) My first job is almost scaring me off though. It is an Alfa Romeo, Guilia GTA. 1 of 500 made, aluminum bodied factory race car

Abarth Simca that just left for England. Belonged to the same guy that owns the Fiat Abarth pictured above. Rear engine, 1300 lbs., and I think he said it has 175 h.p. !!

Cut the piece of 1/4 solid stock out, and the green tape is where the flare SHOULD be to copy an OT 1000

First pass with hammer and dolly to create a hard crease like the real cars have.

Second pass to smooth and shape a little better. Approx 25-30 min of hammer time at this point. Then it all slows down (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif)

Owner cut out to much metal so I had to add 1 1/2" strip to the front and back, ground that down and bent a piece of 1/4" solid stock and tacked it on. Then found that I had a little gap at the top to fill (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/mad.gif)

Perrty much done with the metal werking as the owner doesn't want to pay to get it "perfect". He plans on vintage racing it so he doesn't mind a little mudding to keep the price down.I'll be putting a coat of Vario on it Mon. and he'll take it home to do the inside, underside engine comp.,and trunk the he's bringing it back to be smoothed and painted.
