The last parade in CA was at Monterey, there was a record turnout. Several 914 members took honors.

I didn’t wanna say anything but yes my first thought my second thought was maybe this was their way of keeping those crusty 914’s out of the way. |

Likewise, this one will be close/cheap enough to potentially be my first Parade...as long as I've got something with stellar A/C

Anyone with knowledge of the area and accusations ? Perhaps we could arrange a motel for a 914 group ? That would be cool......

My thought is to find a suitable site first. If you make a reservation early, there is always the option to cancel up tp 24 hrs prior.
I’m hoping a member thstivrd in the area will chime in; or someone that has stayed there. There was a RTE 66 event in PS, where did they stay ? You can cool off at the top of the tram... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Attached image(s) |

Since it's a family oriented event, they try and keep the hotel rooms costs at a certain level while still providing a venue where the family won't get bored during the 7 days period. This usually means great resorts that are expensive during the 'season' but reasonable 'off season'. Palm Springs and Boca Raton in the summer are 'off season' but top notch resorts. With all that said, the folks who run Parade are very good with managing the heat. Last year at Boca, the concours was held right across from the hotel on the golf course. It was a 2-5 minute walk from the concours to the cool interior of the hotel. Once inside, you could go to see the large indoor historic Porsche display, shop at the goodie store or hit up a restaurant or coffee bar. When we went to Savannah is 2011, local folks told us we were crazy. We had a record turnout that year and I still have people asking when we're going back. Managing the heat. It's the key to success when you're hosting a Parade on the sun (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
