OIL its condition & temperature is critical to the health & operation of the T4 motor. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)
Many were fortunate that their cars came equipped from the factory with the components to monitor the temperature of that oil, others were not Of those that did have the gauge and sender assembly installed, many if not most were plagued by leaks from that area due to its construction. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) The factory made the multi-part assembly out of thin gauge stamped steel that was prone to bending under the small torque applied to its fasteners thus resulting in persistent leaks & the nickname for this component the "Taco Plate" (bent into a Taco shape). Made of billet aluminum here is a solution for replacement of that OE part or installation for cars that never had one in your 914 (411/412 or T2)! Available w/o sender or as an assembly.
