I am restoring my gauges and need to replace the glass/plastic with glass as it is scratched.
Does anyone know glass type (silicon borate, glare reducing, etc.) diameter and thickness for the main instruments and the console gauges?
Do you know of any place to buy this glass? I contacted Palo Alto Speedometer but they do not sell glass by itself.

Thanks,
Jeff

I think you're over-thinking this - just take one of your current plastic lenses to a glass shop and tell them what you're doing. they'll measure thickness and give you an opinion on what type to use.

Not sure if they are close to you but after a quick search, I might start here:

That is exactly what I did. I took all three in and told them what they were for. They cut the glass for me on the spot while I waited. in and out in less than 30 minutes.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) Overthinking this, but I just got a new WaterJet, so I could cut you up one. In the month or more it will take to get it. I have been waiting for a year for this thing, so what is a few more months. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

See how easy it is to over think this, glass shop, measure, size up, cut, and you are good to go.

Or post a WTB ad, and see if someone has a bunch of them from past projects. hint you can hit that PM button below and save yourself typinging, but to be fair I am sure other have them.

You can also get new plastics cut if you need to keep it all original.

I have a local glass shop in Lake Barrington, IL that I have used for outside mirror glass. Let me know if that is close to you.
