I'm going to be putting my green 914 for sale again shortly, so I put together some short videos. I liked this one:

Almost stock 2.0 but with E cams. It really has no problem spinning to ~7,200. And aok with the engine builder (European Motorsports). -Steve |

What kind of money does an engine like that one run? Both kidneys and a piece of your liver?

Clay Jeff (sixnotfour) built a 2.5 for me many moons ago. Loved that engine. De-stroked 2.7. |

What kind of money does an engine like that one run? Both kidneys and a piece of your liver? I think a basic rebuild from any of the top builders runs $20-25K Hot rods like the one Clay posted are more like $50+ Our shop recently built a 3.4 with 300 rear wheel HP so that's like 360 at the crank. It's for a street car that gets driven regularly. They are getting help from an ex Andial employee who knows how to build these kind of engines. It's a lot more than just assembling expensive parts. |

Dropping that hammer with one hand holding a phone and the other doing the shifting (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) Clearly it tracks super straight!
I like how the follow up video is "Porsche 914 spanks 911" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif) GLWTS, there's not a lot out there and quality cars seem to be few and far between! |

That 2.0 was rebuilt in 2014 by European Motorsports and was about $19k all in. It was actually a bit more expensive to keep it as a 2.0 rather than going to a 2.2 or 2.4, but since its an original six I wanted to keep it almost entirely stock. Cams and later chain tensioners being the other exceptions.

I got verbally slapped by Betty for suggesting we put 2.2 S pistons, cylinders and cams in Elwood.
But I deserved it. We agreed that car would be made as completely stock as possible. Your car sounds really good. Hope the new owner enjoys it. |
