I'm looking for a source for 4 NEW GoodYear R250 slicks with the following specs:

23.0 x 9.0 x 15
R250 compound
7" rim
10.4" section width
9.3" tread width

According to the GoodYear spec sheet, the Matl No is:
807-409-104

And the R250 specific number is:
2069 192563

The only distributor listed on GoodYears website is "Carroll Shelby Enterprises" in Las Vegas but their website does not list the tires above.

These tires are somewhat special in that they fit on a 7" rim but have a 10" contact patch and a rock hard sidewall that bulges out 1.5" on each side.

Are these the old "cantilever" slicks?

Is Roger Kraus having trouble getting Goodyears these days? Interesting if so…

Yes, they are. Roger Kraus does not list them on his website/PDF anymore.

Why don't you try AIM Tire at Sears Point? They seem to have those kind of tires

Tried them, no luck.

I've tired all over the place, nobody seems to have them anymore although GoodYear still lists them in their annual PDF.

Which is why i was asking if anybody knows anyone that can help.

I already know all the people that *can't* help.

Hmm. I am coming up empty past AIM and RGR.

You try the NASCAR set? Florida Porsche teams might be a better avenue, as well. Klub Sport, Brumos Museum (PM me for who to ask), shops around Sebring or Daytona, etc.

Those were great tires. I believe that GY stopped making them several years ago and sold the molds to Hoosier. I suggest calling Roger. He'll know. Jon

I will know more by tomorrow but this looks to be the correct answer.

This is the replacement for the GY tires:
Hoosier 23.0 x 9.5 x 15 C3500 R35B

Roger Kraus is getting me a set, i'll let y'all know how they perform. the plan is to have them ready for the first PCA AX in early March.

The new shoes have arrived! These are virtually identical to the old ones in every way.
We'll see how they will hold up when driven, but so far i'm very happy.

Many thanks to the team at Roger Kraus Racing ...

I ran Goodyears for years. Switched to Hoosier slicks a couple years ago when the GY were nowhere to be found. Haven't noticed much difference honestly.

They're hurting.

Roger's son told me they lost half of their staff and are looking for people. Specifically, they desperately need another tire tech.

Aw man. Hate to hear this, and will keep in mind.

Did they lose staff to Covid? Lack of business? Or? I'd love to buy another set of Avons from them, but need to sort out where I am going with rear tire size before they time out.

Mix of all of that i suppose. One guy died and they had to let another go. They only had one kid working the shop and told me they have several weeks lead-time to do alignments.
