Hi:

Mostly out of curiosity, I popped the top off of my oil filler canister and was surprised to find this black plastic plug down in the well. Obviously it fell out of the bottom of the cover where there is an access hole to remove the PCV valve. It snaps back in but due to aging is not tight enough to stay.

Looks to me that the only purpose is to make sure the vented fumes go around the periphery of the filler neck on their way to the valve, instead of straight through.

Any thoughts on whether or not it would be worth trying to replace or epoxy this?

Thanks,

Ron
