See the attached pictures. Professionally rebuilt calipers leaking from the mating bolts, not the bleeder and not the piston. One step forward and two back. I depend on quality work from quality people and it seems like I (we)are being let down more and more these days. Really getting pissed at all the so called professionals out there. Send them back and wait or pull apart your self. Either way it sucks and I see and feel your pain. Matt |

Often these don't come with the caliper kits and get re-used or replaced with normal O-rings.
They are the seals between the castings and NEED to be "square cut". https://pmbperformance.com/products/epdm-caliper-1-2-seals |

Thanks but my point is that I paid good money to have them rebuilt to save some time etc. I did expect this to happen.

Bingo Merica’ 2024 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) Just had lumber delivered - they sent 2x6’s instead of the 2x4’s I paid for. They wanted me to pay the difference (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif) I really want 2x4s Final agreement: I don’t pay, they leave the lumber, now I have to rip down 30 2x6’s to 2x4’s which is a waste of my time / labor. Sucks for both parties since they lost $100+ on their end |

This is something I would have done BEFORE posting on an open forum. You really should give them the chance for correction. If they are "professional" they SHOULD be MAD at themselves and bend over backwards to achieve customer satisfaction. I would if I was in their shoes... Now, if they tell you to F.O. the fix will cost you less than $10 and take a very small amount of time. At which point you should SKEWER them every chance you get. They HAVE a HYDRAULIC FAILURE in a part they rebuilt from the get-go... Not the sort of thing a brake rebuilding business wants for an internet review. |

Hope that you were charged for 2*4 lumber rather than 2*6.. |

Thanks but my point is that I paid good money to have them rebuilt to save some time etc. I did expect this to happen. I would be very disappointed and probably angry. After 12 hours to cool down I would contact the vendor with a serious but cool tone and see what they say--and if/how they will make it right. |

Is it just one caliper and on the one end? If so perhaps one seal fell out during the installation. The big problem is that you have to take the time to disassemble and make the fix, then rebleed the entire system again. A big time waster when it is so easy to prevent, and you are up against a clock to get it done.
I am sure this just set you off and you needed to vent, and probably to get suggestions as well. I think this has happened in the past, and the quality control slipped again. |

My leak looked exactly the same on my six rear calipers and it was the bleeders. When I inspected the new bleeders that came installed I noticed that they had a flat spot on the tips. I compared them to my old bleeders that were pointy. They were able to make full contact inside the bore. A call to my vender and they sent me speed bleeders free of charge.

This is why I always use PMB for brake products. 10 year warranty.

I too had one defective "M" type caliper from PMB. But let me say this in Eric's defense. I had this pair for over a year before I installed them. After one phone call another pair were shipped to me in 3 working days. I sent the other pair back with the return shipping label provided me. Every company will have a glitch occasionally. I've been in business since 1979 and can tell you this with certainty. "People don't remember the problem; only how it was handled". This is why I'm a repeat customer of Eric's. This is why I always use PMB for brake products. 10 year warranty. I’m pretty sure Tony used PMB. In which case what is the point of this? Literally, call and send back the leaker. PMB is working with 50 year old pretortured calipers. Once in a while, one might leak. Send it back. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/screwy.gif) |

Tony, We fight super hard to have the best product and the best customer service available. A quick call will net you a replacement caliper and a call tag if this is our product. Furthermore you have a 10-year warranty... no questions.
As others have pointed out, these are 50 year old calipers however, we do our very best to make them like new. I'm the owner of the company. You can express your concerns with me directly (email is better than a message on a BBS that I may not see... eric@pmbperformance.com) or call toll free 855-786-7101 or simply email support@pmbperformance.com for faster resolution. I hope that helps. |

Bingo Merica’ 2024 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) My "Merica" isn't one that never has a problem... it's one that "fixes" the problem if it arises. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |
