Original factory part

Were the 914-6 shields slotted? Ours were not, but perhaps they got replaced at some point.

As a 911 oart number i thought they were slitted. But i have seen Porsche parts that use the same part number but are physically different.
I think i have a NOS shield like that. I have to check but i thought they were still available new for about $40.

The 911's used the same back plate as the 914-6. This part has 914.351.801 00 on it

I am confusing the front and rear. It was our rear that didn't have slots. Maybe not correct.

In any case, that is a great photo and reference. The PDF parts catalog I have only lists a 901-351-801-17 part number for the front. Also slotted, but painted black where I have run across them.

Pelican parts lists the new ones for $49. The picture shows a painted. In fact the pictures show two different parts. One has a scallop area on the flat spot.

I think they used the early part number and changed the caliper cut out. I was referring to the cut out shape at the 6 and 12 o'clock position which not not seem to serve a purpose.
