Hey guys, where did you start and stop when you rolled the lips on your GT flares front and rear? If you could measure and let me know that would be great and pics with a tape would be awesome. Thanks, -Scott

Mine are not rolled and I can fit 245's on 16 x 9 in the rear. YMMV.
I can't imagine anyone needing to roll the front. What size tires are you wanting to run?

P7 245's on rear with 8 x 16 225 front on 7 x 16. I roll all the fenders on the 911's I build and was wondering if you guys did on GT's. If none of you guys are rolling them then I won't but it's something we always do on 911's before paint.

Check the fitment on your car. All 914's are different. Don't be surprised if one side is 1/4" or more off from the other.

Absolutely, Yes. Do it before paint.

I didn't roll my GT flare lips, I trimmed them. This pic was during my installing of the Tangerine racing raised pick-up points so the wheels ended up inboard a bit. About a finger clearance from the tire to the trimmed edge. My car measures wide re: the published +/- specs and my 16 x 9" rear Ronals are 13 offset versus the 15 of the Fuchs 9". I'm running 245 Toyos.
Fronts are 225 on 8s with the same 10.6 offset as Fuchs. No clearance problems ever.

When Rory built his GT, he used these templates to form the inside lip of the flare into a “U” shape. Makes it stronger than just an “L” shape and gets you another 1/2”. It does change the look of the inside of the lip since it’s only at the top portion but I like it and will get it done on my flared car.

Really good pictures and explanation of flare lip rolling. Allows debris to still flow, not get trapped. If they do, the roll gap is large enough to clean out.

Thanks guys, I'm going to roll them like we do on the 911's. Do it now before paint so down the road don't have to worry about it when it comes to different wheel and tires changes.
