Looking for a small section of the lower front cross panel (914-502-031-12) on the passenger side where the bumper mounts. I know it's a long shot, but thought maybe someone had a section left over from their own repair or a parts car.
Uncovered a very sloppy repair from a PO. They didn't even include the bottom hole to mount the bumper!  Thank you. P.S. I'm aware that complete cross panels are now available from Restoration Design. That is great, but I'd like to avoid wasting a majority of a panel and the expense associated with buying and shipping it. |

@DennisV Hey Dennis, in case you are not aware, Chris Foley sells the bumper brackets that hides behind that area. When you cut out this beautifully executed repair (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) , you may find other problems...

Upon closer inspection of the Tangerine part, it looks like the frunk side and top are there but the bottom was lost along with the lower bolt hole. So much for a quick sheet metal repair! It looks like R-D offers them too.  |

I've done this repair before. Its not too bad but the bumper mount, if you have to replace it, is a PITA to get off.

What about just welding in the section that is rusty? I'd cut a rectangular hole out of the front cross (around this rusty area). Make it big enough to get in there to the bracket and then just cut and replace the part of the bracket that is rusted? Unless you have a hole in it going into the light bucket like I did, I'd just weld in a new section. Hell, buy the RD part and just use what you need. That would be a pretty easy repair, IMO. |

Here's a pic or two of the replacement bracket from that same repair. Like I said, you don't have to replace all of the bracket just to get a bottom hole! You won't know anything until you peel back the old sealant and years of dirt.
