With time to debrief on last weeks shakedown, I am looking to try a change to staggered tire dim. Wonder if anyone is comfortable sharing their experience.
Currently have run 225/45R15's all round on 7inchers and 225/50R15 on 7's front and 8's rear. But all my running is on older tires so difficult to draw conclusion. Transitioning from DE to road racing. Basic set up: E-Production, less than 150hp, wide fender, welded diff, 916 brakes. 911 front. 2008 lbs car Appreciate any insight. Thanks, |

I always kinda thought it depended on motor out put
I’ve got a 2.0/6 so not a ton of torque or high horsepower I’ve never run staggered Always raced (20 years of wheel to wheel and dozens of different race tires) On not staggered. 7 inch rims/225 front and rear Car is very balanced and I fine tune the handling by adjusting the rear sway bar when needed. I think a big motor with 300 foot pounds might need rear grip coming out of a corner. But don’t feel like I do Wet with fuel and no driver around 1800lbs I see a lot of 911s with staggered tires on the track But they are not 50/50 balance. And usually bigger motors with more power |

Hoosier TDs with 8s all around equivalent to 225 and 245.

I ran 245 Fr, and 275 Rr on 16x8 Fr, and 16x9 Rr (3.4L twin plug). Just about the right amount of tire for my car weight (2050) and HP (290 RWHP).

With my low-ish hp, I am debating to go 205/50r15 front on 7s and 225 /45r15 rears on 8’s. Vs 225/45r15 all around. This is primarily for my home track WaterfordHills. Tight and twisty

I run 205/50/15 on front and 225/45/15 rears on 6” &7” BBS wheels respectively.

For a low hp car, and tight and twisty track (streets of willow for me) i always liked a good 205/50r15 on all 4 corners. Balance is right for a non staggered setup, and low power means you dont have to worry about overpowering the rear tires. I ran in a class that limited treadwear to 200, so the Bridgestone re71 fit the bill well. I also prefer a bit of oversteer vs under, so it depends on your comfort level too…
