PMB itself https://pmbperformance.com/?srsltid=AfmBOoq...Rdc3JurVeSkHtHk URO 5 bolt conversion hubs to allow studs and the 914 CV axle spline count. https://www.autohausaz.com/pn/12632512-UR-9...BiABEgLMIvD_BwE Lots of folks have them again, they were scarce for a while. The URO rear hubs and 914-6 rotors are the way I went on the back. PMB makes conversion front rotors with only the 5-lug pattern. This is how I went on front. |

Heads up!
Real "Porsche" requires more conversion parts. Front rotor/hubs require 911 struts cause the spindle diameter is different. Rear flanges require different outer axle stubs, and this normally means 911 rear half shafts. I prefer real Porsche, but the cost increase is NOT equal to the performance increase. 911 stuff is pricey, even used. If you go "all the way" to a 3.5 caliper spacing on the front strut housings (later, more expensive housings) you can use Boxster (base) calipers. In the rear if you want to use the corresponding Boxster rears you have to add early 911 emergency brake set up to the trailing arms if you want/need parking brake. I see going real Porsche as increasing the cost by a factor of 3 maybe 4. "Best" caliper for the 3" spaced struts is the Brembo Alfa caliper. The Porsche S caliper is another option but watch for corrosion with those. They are Aluminum and OLD!!! Once again, PMB is a good source for info/parts regarding brakes on these puppies. Edit: Now, your post says 914-6... If it's a real 914-6 it already has some of this crap anyway (like the rear 1/2 shafts, flanges). If your car started life as a four and is not going to have more that 250 hp, the 4 set up can work FINE! Lots of folks use 4 cylinder stuff with fairly powerful sixes... |

I should have 911 struts in either 3” or 3.5. Just realize that switching to 911 struts means 911 hubs, bearings, rotors, calipers and hardware. Strut inserts are the same for 3” but differ for 3.5. The rear is another matter and best to follow the suggestions on Eric’s/PMB brake thread. Add in the cost of wheels. The Alfa calipers are very nice. Same size mounting and piston as an M caliper but larger pads. Also need all the 911 conversion parts to make it work and a rebuilt Alfa calipers will be 2x the cost of a rebuilt M caliper. I’m not saying you shouldn’t do the switch, just be prepared to lay out some cash. |

With the 911 rear hubs and stub axles, I am in need of correct Axles themselves, what companies are out there these days that sell a strong axle for the 911 rear set up that are correct length for the 914 and are plug n play? |
