For the next four days I’ll be sitting next to this GT. If there’s anything you need me to check just ask

How very very cool! Lucky you (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Any chance you can take a picture of the rear end? Wanting to see what badging she has on her.

Thanks!

The VIN database has this:
TOM FIELITZ - SOLD FOR $25,000 - November 2003...
Vehicle Description; Early (70s') Partial upgrade to 914-6 GT specs. by Stoddard, an authorized Porsche Dealer located in the United States. Factory Steel Fender Flares, GT 100 Liter Fuel Tank, 908 Front Alloy Calipers, 2.8 RS High-Butterfly Injected engine, Rear Vented Rotors.

For more information about this 914-6 GT, go here http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/other_porsche_...cars_9140431665

This 914-6 was converted in the early 70's to GT "spec" by Stoddard, a Porsche authorized dealer http://www.stoddard.com/ - Mr. Tom Fielitz owned the GT for many years and recently sold it to Bernie Buschen of the Seattle, Washington area. Here we see Tom Fielitz http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/image/24567937 standing by his old GT.

The 914-6 received the factory 100 Liter Fuel Tank and correct 100mm Aluminum Fuel Cap, the Front Shock Tower Steel Reinforcements, factory Steel Fender Flairs, factory 908 Calipers, Rear Vented Brakes, Rear Chassis Steel Reinforcemnets, Rear Sway Bar, GT Door Panels, the 250 Speedo and 10,000 RPM Tachometer. In the upcoming months, Bernie will be sharing with us the progress of the final steps to complete the conversion to full factory 914-6 GT specifications. Luckily for Bernie, over the years, he has collected most of the factory original 914-6 GT components he will need to complete the transformation.

So that car was at Rennsport last year at Laguna Seca. I talked to the builder as it was recently restored all with the factory GT parts. It is a very nice car (IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif) . It has an RSR 3.0 in it as well which I think is north of 300hp. I have a few pics as well. It was way nicer than the GT's there that were being raced (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif). Probably the cleaned GT you will ever see. I believe he said it was one of the GT's built by a dealership.

Was the front strut tower brace added due to extra fuel weight? Does it have real world street performance gains?
