Putting together my '74 Creamsicle after paint and can't figure this out.

Attached Image

Does anything fill the open space circled in blue at the lower left? Some online resources show a seat belt trim piece but the photos look very similar to the part circled at the upper left so I'm suspicious if they're correct.

Anyone know what I'm missing here if anything?

Nope. Nothing goes in there. My new backpad from Porsche looks just like yours.

The only thing that fills it is the stuff you drop in there by accident, like your seatbelt hardware.

Funny story - I was out working on my last 914 years back.. had the top off and along comes a giant hornet. The damn thing lands on my back pad and quickly dropped down into that gapped area. After trying to figure what to do and messing around with it for a while, I basically decided to leave the top off and come back to whatever I was doing after several hours. Surely it would leave on it's own (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) . I came back and looked down into the area with a light and could not see anything BUT was really on edge the next time I drove the car and for a while after that. Couple years later I took the back pad out while doing some refurb work, and there it was dead.

There is supposed to be a little piece of solid color seat material about 3" wide glued to back wall to hide metal showing.

Nothing fills it however 73 2.0s had an extra piece of black vinyl that went on the firewall behind it to clean up the appearance a little.

@LiveFromNY

Is that Creamsicle VIN 14531, and is that the original interior? I have not seen that interior color before on a Creamsicle.

Notice the strip of Black tape along the bottom of the window to hide the body color..
