Does anyone have a trick to install the grommet that allows the three "Bowden cable" heater controls to pass through the interior bulk head to the heater control box located in the gas tank area?

Have not tried it on that particular gromett but lube the groove and edges of the gromett, warm it with a heat gun, wrap several rounds of waxed dental gloss in the gromett grove leaving the loose end on the side that the lip is being pulled thru. insert as much of the lip thru the hole. Tie a loop in the end of the dental floss and pull the lip of the gromett thru.
pther technoque is use a smal diameter right angle pic the pull the lip thru the hole.

Put it in some boiling water to make it pliable.

Buy a nice, new, soft one from 914Rubber? They go in easy.

Thanks for the input! I'll give it a try and report back.

Thanks for the reply, I have tried the boiling water. Didn't seem to make it much more pliable. I'll keep working at it. "Rightous persistence" wins every time!

Thanks for the reply! I don't remember where I got this one from. I try to spread the wealth to all of our good 914 parts suppliers. If nothing else works, I'll give your suggestion a try.
