My fan shroud in some spots looks like it's separating. I'd like to fully seperate it and get it cleaned up and powder coated/ painted in and out. I don't see any fasteners holding it together though

It's balanced so make some witness marks so it goes together the same way.

There was in fact no screws holding the shroud together. One of many things I've found that show me that the shop the previous owner had put this thing together were idiots. The alternator was the only thing holding this thing together. I will need to source some replacement screws while it's at the powder coater

I was wondering about the balancing comment above. Now I'm realizing i must be using the wrong verbiage. This is the piece I'm talking about. The two halves were not fastened together and after removing the alternator were able to be separated. If anyone knows what the correct size fastener is I'd be very grateful.

I was wondering about the comments on this ,only the fan wheel itself turns certainly the shroud doesn't rotate .

While working on my motor during reassembly I tried to split the halves of the shroud but it didn't bug so I decided leave it alone before I break it.

Off the top of my head, it uses a couple of different thread sizes and lengths. I replaced the stock bolts with stainless Allen heads.

Look up the sizes in PET. Several 6mm by about 30mm and a few 8mm hex bolts

Fan needs to be balanced, if you take it apart, not the shroud, I needed to take mine apart to clean the grease out of it before powder coating. A bit tough to separate but it can be done.
