Hi Dan,
I don't know what times we were turning, my hot lap timer fell apart... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) I was able to pull away from Greg Adams who was following me, and he was turning 1:58's. Hi Roger, I just downloaded the raw file. I'll edit it down and you'll get to see the car in front of me go too hot into turn 4. Nothing spectacular, just alot of dust.... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) Bill P. |

Hi Andrew,
You are right. I was shifting around 6K RPM instead of redline of 6800. Getting a feel for the car. This was only the third time I had driven Fritz. Getting to know each other is the key word here.... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) Bill P. |

All of you should be aware that even when you get as old as dirt, you can still be inspired by the videos of track time. Cooltimes Memphis |

Looks like that lap was about a '56 or '57 Bill.
Didn't appear that you were pushing it real hard. Although in Fritz you can go pretty fast before it looks or feels real fast. Car is very capable and a blast to drive. Driving it later in the year when the track is stickier will be a big hoot! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) Once you get used to the feel of the taildragger instead of the 6 you will be right up in the standings. You already seem to be getting the hang of the AX courses with Fritz....I know you can let it hang out alittle more on a parking lot than at Sears or Laguna.... |

nice! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif)
so, that's what it's going to sound like, eh? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wub.gif) quick question, why not have a second shift-light for downshifting? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif) Andy |

Really nice video!!!
Hey not to get off the subject but I work in dvd authoring and replication. So if you guys ever get together a bunch of footage and want a dvd for the club I could knock that out fairly fast. I already do some racing videos for other car clubs now and then. |

No Andy, yours will be louder because it is only 10 inches behind your ears! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) What exactly do you mean by a downshift light...how would it function or help in driving? |

Downshift lite...
Shift lite at 6k downshift lite at 4.5k Tells you when you should downshift.. |

Andy,Kind of thought that is where you were going with that idea. In a track car, between a yellow or green up shift light and a red oil pressure light I think another light for downshifting would be too much....IMHO Maybe others feel differently...I have driven lots of track cars with shift and oil lights, personally I have never had either in my car. Just not my cup of tea personally.
IF I build a bigger motor for my track car I may consider a shift light eventually. |

dunno, could even be the same light, really ... i think downshifting at the right rpm is just as important then upshifting ... no? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif) Andy |
