Looks to me like this has a definite front and back. Anyone know which way it should go? Am I being too fussy?

no pic at the moment, but it looks like the needles are set closer to one side of the bearing. I thought that maybe it might take some of the thrust from the tranny shaft or something. But I'm just thinking out loud...

Are you talking about the pilot bearing? I think the pilot bearing goes in either direction.

It will work either way but I always install them with the wider side facing out so there is more surface to tap against when putting it in.
