I have am using a turbo axle and found is has "coarse" 29 spline while the 944 axle has more (didn't count yet). In my application I need to use the 944 CV to mate with the Boxster transaxle and the Turbo axle for the shorter length on one side.

1) Are both ends of the axle and CV identical of 911 and 930?

2) What's the different spline counts of 911 and 930?

i know there are two varieties of 944 cv's... 27 and 31 spline come to mind.... maybe one was 29? not sure.....

not sure on your other question....

sounds like you should have someone cut you a custom splined axle... 944 splines on one end... 930 or 911 on the other....

Guys I have an 86 944 I'm parting out right now. If you would like I will dissasemble the axles and count the splines MAYBE tues or wed. Let me know. I also have this on file that Aa posted a while back. Seems to me the issue keeps being WHICH year 944 axles to use. No? I THINK I may also have the inner half of an 82 924 axle (same as early 944 I believe)I could count that as well, but I KNOW I don't have the outer splines. (axles were cut when removing tranny )

My axle combination is for a Boxster 5 speed transaxle and 911 stub axle. I have 911 and 930 axles because of unequal lengths. If you see a Boxster transaxle you will see why. This has been done by ajracer but not exactly documented. I have the correct axle but need the 944 CV on it to mount to the Boxster output flange. There's not much dimensional data on CV sizes and spline #'s...

I thought the 911 & 930 cv's were 28 spline. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

Remil is correct, 28 spline for 930. Anyone know of any other Porsche CV's that have 28 spline? I'm thinking adapters (unless the T1/2 CVs fit the Boxster trans) since they sell different axles length at dansperformance:

1-16-2200-0 16 1/4" AXLES,28 SPLINE,930 CV JOINT, PR $ 149.95
01-16-2201-0 16 1/4" AXLES,33 SPLINE, T-1 & 2 CV JOINTS, PR $ 149.95

Is the Boxster trans axle flanges 110mm, i seem to recall they are the same dimensions as the 930 cv's.
