I'm sure I'm not alone in collecting miniatures. For me it's the only way to have 1 of every kind of Porsche. I've chosen 1/18 scale to collect over the 1/43 just cause they're bigger & more detailed. I'm at the point where I want/need exotics... 718RSK, RS60-62, 907, 908L/ 908/3, 909, 916, & not so exotic, 928, 944... oh yea & some tractors.
Thoughts? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) Attached image(s) |

I have a couple of common 1:18 Porsches (356 cab and '89 speedster).
Where do I find a 914? |

Go to Google & type in 1/18th Porsche & they'll start showing up. http://attr-search.ebay.com/search/search....o=&saprchi= Also try this: http://cgi.ebay.com/VW-VOLKSWAGEN-PORSCHE-...1QQcmdZViewItem (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) This post has been edited by Johny Blackstain: Feb 28 2007, 09:26 AM |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) I have some models from Exoto... 910, 934 (Brumos), 935 (martini), 917/30(Donohue) and some minichamps 924, 904, 906, 962 (Rothmans), as well as some cheapies...914, 550rs, 550rsk, 356 type 1, 356B cab, 917(mcQueen), 911S, 911RS, 911gt3, LM GT1, 996 turbo, 993 turbo, 911 cab, 986 car show edition, and a bunch more.... It is frustrating to wait for the "new releases" as they never seem to come....when they do, a bunch of cheap copies flood the market as well.....Exoto (the nicest quality) seems to flog the same models in different liveries and never makes the next car on the list! (a 908/3 has been planned forever) I'd like to see a 936 too! urrently waiting on a 951 amongst others....sometimes I just want to bail out of all of them....good luck collecting. |

Thought that was a 956 & Shell had a 962? Anyway, I know exactly how you feel. I hate hearing about new releases & then waiting 2 or 3 years for that release to come out. I waited 2 years for a 924... no one even does that with the real ones! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) The 908/3 does look choice! I've wound up in the same boat your in, a mix of Exoto, Minichamps, Autoart, & the cheaper Maisto, Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Revell, etc... all in 1/18th scale. I want to park them next to each other on a shelf in my garage. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chairfall.gif) I think the demand and/or popularity of the model dictates what will be released. That does not explain why there's a 924 & not a 944 in 1/18th however. I'd also like to see Revell whip up about 175 914 LEs'... guaranteed they'd all sell. Anyway, just hoping for info on some less popular Porsches'. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) |

FYI- I have learned that Auto Art, a French company of better quality, is due to release a series of 914s' in 1/18th scale. From what I can gather from their website it will be mostly street 6's, (green, Orange, Red, an undertimed soft top & 914/6 RALLY 1971 3RD POSITION WALDEGAARD/THORZELIUS #7 (RALLY OF MONTE CARLO)). There is no price or release date, only a listing on the Auto Art website. There are many 914s' available in 1/43d scale, the better ones being Minichamps, however only Revell makes a 1/18th... it's a six w/ a removable hard top that comes in blue or yellow. Hmmm... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) I was thinking about getting another one to repaint into a creamsicle... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool_shades.gif)
