Bob at APPBIZ here Really would like some feedback from you guys on our newest product. We have been the leading vendor of 911/930 door panels for years. We have been asked by many 914 owners to develop more 914 products. After nearly a year we finally have 914 door panels in production. We had a big battle forming the top piece and finally decided we would do it in metal like the factory did on some cars. We think the results are spectacular. Pictured above is our 914 RS America Plus panel. It features a 911 RS America Handle with OEM Bezels and a 916 style accordion pocket. Pictures of our other 914 panel sets will be added to this post as we upholster them. This model was the most complex so we figured we would tackle it first. We have just begun production and will have several versions of 914 / 916 panels available very soon. Again I would really appreciate your comments on these. We really value the opinions of you guys and with your help we can make this a terrific product. Bob bob@appbiz.com |

Bob -- The panel looks great. One question; are you prepared to market to 914 owners? We have a reputation of being pretty tight with a buck.

Bob -- The panel looks great. One question; are you prepared to market to 914 owners? We have a reputation of being pretty tight with a buck. We are still working out our pricing on these. Preliminary Pricing RS America 914 panel set with Pockets $399 RS America 914 set (no pockets) $299 As always we offer a 15% discount to PCA members (lie to us if you must...) The reason these are slightly more exensive than our 911 RSA panels is that the 911 uses a separate pad on top of the door panel. To make the 914 set we had to have tooling made to form the top area from metal (don't even ask what that cost). We tried vacuum forming it and laying it up in fiberglass but we were not happy with the results. Because of the metal upper piece these are very easy to re-uphoster and not affected by moisture and heat. Some of the 914 panels we purchased for R&D had metal top portions others were formed from particle board and were in pretty bad shape. Mimicking the metal top piece was really the only way to produce a top quaility product. Both sets include door panels retainers and RSA handles with OEM Porsche bezels. Would it be possible to get them without the map pocket? Have you thought about making them with the RS style pull tab instead of the stock pull handle?
If you could do it without the pockets and with the RS pull tab, I'd definitely be interested! They look great! Edit - You beat me to it. I guess you can get it without the map pocket. What are the panels made of? Cheers, |

Cheers, The problem we have with the RS opener strap is how to make unlocking and locking the car from inside possible...... As the unlock mechanism is integrated wiith the opener Any suggestions Bob |

Could it be possible to have the lock tab directly above the pull strap, and work it into the bezel somehow? I imagine that would take a lot of work though. I never lock my car, so I don't think it would be less of an issue for me, but I imagine most owners would want some way to lock it. Cheers, |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) looks to puffy to me The puffyness may be an optical illusion, the guys hit that set with armorall before we took the pic and it was very sunny out, the pic of the standard panel i just posted has the same 1/4" foam. does it look better? I like the looks of the standard panel. Will it have a pull? Perhaps a red one like on the 911 RS?

I like the looks of the standard panel. Will it have a pull? Perhaps a red one like on the 911 RS? We are still scratching our head on how to do that. The main problem is engineering a way to lock and unlock the door from the inside as the lock unlock mechanism is intergrated with the latch handle. Any thoughts? Bob BTW the pic you posted is of our 911/912/930 RS America offerings, where did you find that pic? Was it from our website www.appbiz.com ? |

I think someone asked this already, but I didn't see the answer. What are the panels themselves made of?
They look nice! Jim |
