Sorry Mr. Towle, this original six will be repaired. My PDF file is not the best on the suspension area. Anyone have a good exploded view?

I will be ordering parts to do it right as opposed the rather amateurish repair. I have a Cellette availble for the asking.

I assume, suspension console, battery tray and support. I'd like to know what else is needed and order it ahead of time.

Yes, that is not an original 6 bumper. It will be reunited after the console repair.

battery tray, engine shelf and the "ear" are all available.

i'd be digging into the hell hole, with that kind of repair, who knows what they did to "fix" the large rust hole on top of the long.
also look closely on the underside of the long and around the jackpost. the rust likes to go there, after eating through the top.

Did they do more than just lay/weld sheet metal over that suspension console/ear? Wonder what's under there.

we are happy that over the years we were able to make, one by one, every piece to perfectly repair the battery area. As the factory has discontinued all of the parts, we would be totally without today, as no one is crazy enough to invest so much in tooling (of course we had invested all of the tooling with Bill only to have it converted!!!!, long very bad story)
But in any event we are making more and more of these various pieces, as I always say "If you have no body you have no car" The recent ones are the em brake stand the two piece outer firewall repair panels, and the 914-6 control unit mounting plate.

I also learned something today, 914/6 engine and serial numbers aren't where 911 engine numbers are. They are back by the thermostat housing instead of to the right of the of the engine pulley.

One would guess that they do that so they can be seen without having to pull the motor or cut a hole in the firewall.

Tear down of engine, gasket is one of three that shows blow by.

Last rebuilder used Permatex EVERYWHERE. Heads look pretty good. Debating on just stabbing a running 3.0 in it, keep the cleaned up and rebuildable original to the car case or rebuilding this.

110HP just doesn't cut it for me. Now a 180HP 3.0 would be fun. $3500 for a running one, throw on the 40mm Webers, junk the CIS.

That much or more to rebuild this 2.0. What would you guys do?
