I kept smelling gasoline in the cabin so I did some checking and found the filter was moist and has a gas odor. It is under the tank and I can get to it from the front pump access cover. The lines and filter were replaced 2 years ago and the lines look good. My question is, is this very common? It is a genuine Porsche replacement filter.

It could be the fittings on the tank that are weeping.

It could be the fittings on the tank that are weeping. I pulled the tank up and checked. Everything was dry but the filter. Sounds like you answered your own question. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) They are cheap, replace it and see if it fixes your issue. |

Not a particularly uncommon problem. We use metal filters on the earlier cars, but they don't fit yours. The Cap'n

I had a friend William Harris who blew out a brand new one..
Apparently the latest batch is junk and they do leak. I was also told go with a BMW filter, same fittings on each end... Rich |
