So after I decided to fit 964 seats in my 914 it became apparent the handbrake would no longer function in its original location.
Here is the earlier link: seat install thread I decided to see if a 964 hand brake and console would fit in my car, so i bought a used one and started the engineering process. The console is a bit too long for a 914 IF you want to center the shifter in the 964 console. I ended up peeling back the vinyl and performing minor surgery to the front and back. Here is the original console: (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i954.photobucket.com-11663-1284916612.1.jpg) Here are the cuts: (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i954.photobucket.com-11663-1284916613.2.jpg) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i954.photobucket.com-11663-1284916613.3.jpg) And here is the tentative fitment with the shifter centered in the remaining portion of the console. I will also need to address the 964 cable issue and see if they can be adapted to the 914. I'll post more later. |
