Hi all,
A post on the bird board got me thinking about compiling a list of "out of car" factory engines and that we might be able to help some of these engines find their way back to the original chassis. So,here is the place to post those 640/641 engine serial numbers out floating around. I think serial number and last whereabout should be good.If you have an engine for sale, post in the f/s section and I will copy it to the list or you can add it. Thanks, John P.s.Thanks to Pat G. for the sticky 640 0030 - Finland 4140 - Massachusetts 4153 - Orlando,Fla 4278 - Massachusetts 4280 - Ventura,Ca 4302 - Bakersfield Ca. 4324 - South Carolina 4412 - Boulder,Co. 4470 - Maumelle,Ar 4476 - Laguna Beach,Ca 4495 - Santa Maria,Ca. 4496 - Seattle,Wa, reunited with correct chassis after 20 years! 4869 - Boston Mass. 4895 - Laredo,Tx. 5002 - Fallbrook,Ca 5100 - New Hampshire 5156 - Fallbrook,Ca. 5175 - Mooresville,In. 5274 - Boulder,Co. 5289 - Boulder,Co. 5367 - Dead at the hands of Niello Porsche in Sacramento 5525 - Fallbrook,Ca. 5749 - Mosier,Ore. for sale,2500.00 S spec,3.14.13 641 0169 - Sacramento,Ca. 4103 - San Ramon,Ca. 4122 - Seattle, Wa Now, all the above except the 641 engine are for sale, but this is not the F/S section,so pm me or check the usual spots, to get more info |

I've got case number 6404495 sitting on a shelf here at the shop. It's for sale but not advertised anywhere.

OK, I will add this to your list, I just purchased engine case 6414103 and will keep it unless/until I find my original engine, 6414135.
It is a very clean case and I feel fortunate to have bought it for a fair price from Henry Schmidt at Supertec Performance in Fallbrook, CA. At least I now have a period correct case that is only 32 numbers off of my original case. Probably doesn't mean anything to anyone but me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) |

6400030 availeable in Finland. Is it original 914-6 engine? should be a 901/36 engine - very early Euro 914-6 engine for a shifter possibly belongs to a car between 914.0.43.0015 - .0045 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) |

I am a long time 914-6 enthusiast! I own 914-6 chassis #9140432353. It is missing its original engine and gearbox. The original motor number was 6405532. Porsche doesn't have the original gearbox number recorded. I would be interested in finding the original motor. Any help or leads would be appreciated! On the gearbox, if anyone would know around what gearbox number I should be looking for it would also be appreciated. Thank You! Freeman Thomas |

6405100 is actually sitting in my garage in Charlotte, NC, not New Hampshire as listed.
And it's for sale, just not listed yet... |
