This time for my 76...
Attached Image

I'm up in the air about the dash, on one hand, I want to keep a stock one (the one in the car is cracked, so it will have to be either repaired or replaced..

Then on the other, I want to swap into a Getty Design, 911 style dash, I have the guages and already have a pair of Getty 911 style door panels.
Attached Image

But I have this wild idea about having a dash recovered in suede like my buddie's Lambo cup car...
Attached Image..

Every since the 1st time I saw Karls Dash, I have been wanting one for my 911 & 914..

Are you interested in selling the Getty door panels?

I like using the stock dash, and using a 930 tach with the boost gauge. You have to get it re-worked for your specific engine, and have the boost gauge converted to a fuel guage. Then just use a stock oil temp/press combo gauge. Not the cheapest option, but very a very slick way to go, with no console or guages under the dash.

Here's my Getty dash. It wasn't too hard to put in, but be prepared to figure out how to fasten it because there are no mounting tabs, studs or anything. I screwed it down around the front border under the windshield, but this required removing the windshield.

Attached Image

The Getty dash overhangs the original dash by about 1" on the "cabin" edge. I covered mine in gray synthetic leather. I also had a local upholstery shop create 911 style door panels for me. The Getty dash, the driver's door pocket, the lower original dash and the passenger door pull were all done by a dashboard specialist in my area.

HTH

I really like that idea, now I with that I hadn't traded off all my 930 tachs (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I don't think N Hollywood Speedo needs you to have the 930 core to convert it. They did mine without a core......

I really like the look of the stock dash. Get one leather covered and suede on the part between the dash and the windshield.

Then get a quad gauge to put oil temp, oil pres, fuel, volts.

At least that would be my plan in a perfect world where I had money to do what I wanted.

I have a Getty dash in one car and a stock dash in the other and I really prefer the stock dash. I don't know why I just do.

I've got a Getty 911 dash and I have noticed one deficiency. The "brow" over the gauges isn't as deep as the stock one and the instrument lights reflect in the windshield at night. My dash needs recovering, and I'm thinking of building out the brow to eliminate the extra distraction.

Thanks. I like the clean look myself. Call them and ask for Kevin 818-761-5136. Tell him I sent you and it "may" help a little on pricing. I don't know the exact price for just the tach since it was one bulk price to do all my gauges for two cars with some custom work involved.

Kevin is full of good ideas and his work is impeccable. Note the check engine light in the left gauge to work with my 993 DME. I remember when I took Rob Simes for a ride (cone dodger) that's all he talked about. Couldn't believe it had a check engine light... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Also note the speedo numbers have been rotated to the left so that 70 mph was not under the steering wheel.....now 110 is straight up
