What set of wheels is worth more-2.0L fuchs or four lug Mahle's? Also what would be a good price for a set of each of these?

Well, its all in personal preference. I myself like the Mahles, I had them on my factory 2 liter car and they are light and strong. The Fuchs are more popular and are a little lighter. They look good polished and are bringing in the most money because of that fact. The Mahles are going for around 3 to 500 a set. The Fuchs can be had for 3 to 900 bucks depending on the condition. I have seen many Fuch wheels (2 liter type) crack from hard cornering. I have yet to see a Mahle crack. I am sure it is possible, but the replacement is more on the Fuch than the Mahle.

Don't forget about my polished Mahle/Pedrini's.
I like 'em better than 2.0 Fuch's. KT Attached image(s) |

So if you polished out mahles or any wheel for that matter they would be worth more?

The light Mahle wheel is the 5 lug "gas burner", not the 4 lug. They seem to go for at least $1000 a set.

Fuchs always go for more - Mahles (4-lug) rarely go for more than $300 in my experience.

QUOTE(jgiroux67 @ Jul 31 2004, 02:41 PM) So then what are these? Mahles. Pedrinis are like the polished ones further up the thread. Notice the differences in the length of the inner ridges. |

Mahles vs Pedrini's at a glance: 4 of the "spokes" on a Pedrini point to a lug bolt hole; none of the spokes on a Mahle line up with a hole.

There are more differences than the spoke length, I have never cared for the Pedrinis, but I do like the Mahles. If you are looking for a good wheel for less money, go for the Mahle, if you want the most expensive wheel, go for the Fuch. I dont care for the Mahles when they are polished out either, I am just weird like that. I prefer the flat anodized look they came with from the factory. Less maintenance.

Fuchs (fooks) are forged aluminum and are very strong, Mahles are cast and not as strong. Pricing quotes seem to be very accurate, except for finding a clueless seller. Mahles in good original shape $75-125 a wheel, Fuchs $100-150. If they are polished or professionally refinished you could easily get up to $250 a wheel or more for Fuchs that have been re-anodized. Mahles are cheaper to refinish as they were never anodized.
Just my .02, your results may vary, PK (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) |

Fuchs were polished spokes and outer rims with anodized remainder.
Mahles were painted with Wurths Silver and clearcoated (unless they were LE and then they were painted body color) Pedrinis - don't know - but assume the same treatment as the Mahles. ATS (four lug) were painted. Yea, I have/have had sets of them all and empis, riverias, aftermarket western wheels, the italian ones I can't spell and fake fuchs. I guess I win the prize for stupidity (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) I'm gonna make wall clocks outta all of them. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

QUOTE(SLITS @ Aug 1 2004, 06:36 AM) Fuchs were polished spokes and outer rims with anodized remainder. The raised areas and the rim were smooth, and the recessed areas had sort of a cast or pebble finish, but the entire wheel was anodized. I don't think you could anodize just part of the wheel. PK (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) I suppose I should have said that the spokes/rim were polished and then the entire wheel was clear anodized - not enough (IMG:style_emoticons/default/coffee.gif) yet to get my dendrites firing correctly. How do you polish the rims, do you send them somewhere or do you use special product or a special tool? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)
