Without thinking about my actions, I decided that the shield on my clutch needed to be shortened. It was just too long. What I wasn't thinking about was that the cable itself needs to be shortened a like amount. I called around and got the name of a local business that does this work, but I need to take it by to see what they think.
Two steps forward, one back! Such is life. |

I have to then ask. Why shorten the outer sleeve? |

You know it's not really possible for your clutch cable to be too long. Unless, something is bent or broken.
There are times when you may need a small spacer on the adjusting nut but that's about it. |

Could you possibly have received the wrong cable?
I have heard that happens. |
