Mentioned this in a reply to a WTB ad but probably belongs in this forum area.
I have a set of NOS injectors but wanted to replace the braided elbows with the newer style rubber ones. While many people will just attach them with a hose clamp, I decided to bring them over to the local hydraulic repair place (Clark Industrial Supply in Pottstown, PA). I also provided the new elbows. For $20 total they removed the old ones and properly crimped the new ones on. A far superior solution versus hose clamps. |

How is that injector NOS with that black spray paint on it? Hi Jeff, this paint is original factory made finish. Look at this image (the company is part of Bosch GmbH) : http://www.partbob.com/einspritzventil-ben...1-ev-1-3-a.html Regards Norbert |

Thanks Norbert. Let me look at my NOS injectors and will report back. Either way I will learn something.

They are a bit scratched up because I had them in my car for a few months before i removed the engine. As for what looks like black spray paint on the green ... nope. I have two NOS sets from different sources and they all have some of that black on them.
I got the elbows from the guy in Atlanta. |

Given all the other great info, parts and support you provide, we will give you a pass on this one. Anyone know if any of these elbows are comparable to the additives and ethanol in today's fuels? Jim [/quote] That's why I make my own elbows. Piece of 6 gauge copper wire inserted into precut length of 30 R9 hose and bent to shape, heat till too hot to touch, and into the freezer for an hour. Pull wire out. Bingo! |
