kamman produced 25 chassis for Porsche in 1969
Some of the chassis are kamman 0010,0011,0012,used in preproduction/ test cars/show cars #0011 and #0012. both 914-6 as #0011 & #0012 both made with euro spec. cars (00#36 engine case). Both cars sold as ( for off road use in usa) by porsche.

Both 914-8's Porsche used the chassis's from the production run from kamman, not shur where the other bodies went or what is left of these cars.

You can tell the difference as the front fenders ( no rubber in fender & body area , fill in solid area next to door jam, fenders used only on the first 52 cars produced . info provide from memory, please chime in if there is more info available

Not quite ...

Info straight from the historic archives at Karmann:

- 20 prototypes built in 1968 and delivered to Porsche between 03/07/68 and 12/17/68
- 48 /4 prototypes built in 1969

Nope, both 914-8 were built on prototype chassis, not production.

At least 4 of the prototype cars survived the crusher:

According to Porsche production started at 914.043.0011 not 914.043.0010.

According to Porsche production started at 914.043.0011 not 914.043.0010.

0011 was an development model for work load assembly( how many people does it take to build the car, this is the reason the car was the only one made with a full set of matching #'s on body engine and trans. making this car unique ).
Porsche also state's and glen's has paper work that's says 0012 was an engineering/ test car and both are production cars, as it is Porsche practice also used in the 930. . if you compare 914-8 bodies to the 0011 and 0012 you can see the same metal work. front fire wall, rear bumper rubber that was to mount to the body not the bumper, but the holes are there.

great fact's on the 914-6 early cars are coming out, keep up the good work. some of the early cars were redone as gt's, and helped development .
would like to know #'s of first 52 cars that are still out there, are the very early cars ( PROTYPE CARS) still around or are they rusting away
