Just because? No.
Is it running hot? Drop the motor, pull the top tins off the motor and clean 43 years of crud/leaves/etc off the fins and oil cooler. And if you really wanna go all in, ditch the single center carb and go with stock FI or dual IDF/HPMX/DRLA carbs. |

Do you have an oil temp gauge ? I had a 1.8 that was running hot. Added an external cooler which brought down the temps. When the engine failed due to stripped teeth on the cam gear I found the original cooler was on the top with oil sludge. Only fix it if it is broken. |
