I know the Garage gets the most exposure, so I figured I'd start this here.
What would you want to ADD to 914club to make it better? Let's not make suggestions on format changes, or things to move around. The club already works fine... My suggestion... 1. How about a chat feature? It can't be THAT difficult. Pretty please? |

Theoretically, the classic threads are what the "how to" is supposed to be. I'd agree that a collection of articles on how to do common tasks, or answers to commonly asked questions, would be a good thing. The primary hurdle is the content. I've started some in my blog, and I'm asking others to review what I've written and make suggestions and corrections. If anyone wants to do the same in their blogs, we can (eventually) edit it all into a useful set of articles that could be posted into one special "answers" blog, or a set of threads (perhaps even posts in the classic threads). Are blogs searchable with the current software? It doesn't look like they are, in which case a set of threads would probably be better. |

I remember someone talking about a map showing member location awhile back. I thought that would be cool but I don't know if it's doable. maybe something like a regional list showing who is in what area.

I don't think there should be an off-topic or on-topic chats. Just a chat room. For 914club members only.
Somebody steps out of line, then their membership is removed... abusers could be reported to admins. Or... you can have chatroom priviledges if you have XXX number of posts. This would prevent new people from just creating random IDs and posting spam and crap to the chat room. Most chat rooms also have an Ingore feature... so if you don't want to listen to somebody's BS, you just put them on your ignore list. Easy enough. |

I've been there. It is quote lonely. I think that if we had a chat forum... and you could see who is online, I bet we could have a bit of fun there. Get some of the B.S. we clog the garage with and put it on the chat group. |
