yupp, modified 3.6L engine with 320HP, 944 suspension front/rear ... he tried to keep it stock looking as much as possible. 2 year project.

and best of all, it's streetlegal in germany! (everyone knowing the TÜV knows what a PITA that must have been) ...

Until I replace my old 1963 Ghia convertible with another, I will continue to kick myself in the @ss.
The next one will be a mid engine though........ (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif)

Ghias are cool cars. I'd always considered one with a RAT in it, bit, the 993 plant isn't bad either, I'd take it I guess.

Yeah I still kick myself for my 73 coupe.

Specs Bone stock outside
Used a set of 914-6 steelies with 914-4 standard wheel caps and Ghia trim rings. Had 944 front spindles and brakes, big sway bars, bilstiens, urethane bushings. Rear used 944 rear arms and brakes again. a 901 5-speed strapped to a 2.0L 914-4 engine. Interior was stock except the 914-4 tach, speedo, 904 combo gauge. And I had a set of recarro sports out of a Jetta GLI, covered in matching tan. I keep the all the trim etc..... It was a sweet fast car, blow many a poor vette away. I used to run a bunch of back roads around here, and the vette boys would come a knockin' Once we hit the twisties I was gone...... After a long run of twisties, I would have to pull over and wait for the guy to catch up.

Once I went to college my father drove it through the week and I got it on the weekends. My senior year the body was getting a little old and I pulled it apart for a simple repaint and minor touch up. I got Dirk Writghted and the car parts where eventually sold and the chassis crushed. Sad day indeed I miss that car, a 914 is a great car also, but there is something about blasting the doors off something in a ghia that puts a big grin on your face.

BTW, the link worked for me I'm (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wub.gif) that ghia.

Wow, that ghia is beautiful! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wub.gif) I had my wife who speaks German look over my shoulder and translate. Funny thing is, the sound was enough!
