This HE was on my 73 2.0 when I bought the car. When we dropped the motor to send out for rebuilding, we noticed the flanges (AKA dog ears) were tearing off from the PO or the PO's mechanic over torquing the flange bolts (a sad but common occurrence).

I took this HE to a welder to fix, but despite trying multiple times, they just couldn't get it right (the location of the flanges when they reattached them weren't perfect and for whatever reason they reshaped one of the pipe ends that goes to the exhaust port on the head).

After 3 or 4 trips back and forth to the welder's, I finally threw in the tall trying to have this HE repaired. I bit the bullet and bought a new HE.

I'm sure there's someone on the board here that is handy with welding equipment and can get it right and/or use parts of it for other projects.

Overall the HE is in great shape. I don't see any rust. Looks relatively new.

If it would help to find it a new home i have SSI pipe that broke off about a foot from the head. It could be grafted onto you SSI as making that pipe oval will be a challange. Just pay $8 shipping. Canpost a picture later.
