I know most of us have probably done away with this relay and bypassed the system. Mine is still intact with the seat belts disconnected (by my father years ago). The system still works if I connect the seat belts. Anyways I came across these while surfing eBay. I purchased them after the seller in Oregon accepted my purchase offer. They are NOS made in Western Germany. If anyone is interested I am willing to part with 3 out of the 4 I have purchased if there is any interest. If there is no interest, I will just hang on to them. They also work in 74-77 911s from my research. I think this is my first acquisition of a NOS part for this car. I have a number of other NOS Toyota parts that were given to me for free from our former parts manager that came from a shop that shut down as the owner was retiring. Enjoy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I am interested in 1 or two of those, no idea what they are worth. Asking price?

Like Jeff, I would be interested in one. When I rebuilt my harness I included all the wiring to make it functional. I can use the jumper bypass if I want. I can also use a trick to permanently enable the starter. However I do plan to use a relay at the starter solenoid to unload the solenoid current from the ignition switch.

Also interested in one. I like the quirky feature.

I posted a diagram long long ago about how that device works.
If I recall, it’s two in one I believe (it’s been over 20 years) you can replace it with two normal relays with a few wires moved around. Me…I remove them and hard wire the starter…done |

All relays that I offered are spoken for. Thank you everyone else for your interest.

Man, I missed the boat on this one lol… or you might have escaped the eternal torment of putting your sunglasses on the passenger seat and finding your key won't start the car while a light on the dashboard tells you to do up the seat belt you already have on. A good friend and former industry engineer would make one that played A-Ha Take Me On, and send it to me as a surprise (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Hahaha. My father got annoyed with the system and disconnected the two pin connectors under the seats years ago as the briefcase he used to take to work years ago weighed a ton and the car wouldn't start with the briefcase on the passenger seat haha. The system still works as designed as I connected them a number of years back to see if it still worked. |
