....from Okteenerfest, and when I restarted Mistress the speedo was completely dead, O! Not previous bouncing needle, no indication of potential failure, so probably a trip to Palo Alto this winter? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif)

John Bell/JBell959 is a much better solution than the big gauge shops. I’ve spent thousands and each and I’ll never go back to the big shops.

I would start by removing speedometer, go for a drive and see if the cable still spins. Might be a bad cable or angle drive at trans

Can you please supply more contact info for JBell959 for my future need? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) Start with the weakest link in the chain. Far more cable failures than speedo gear failures, at least in my experience.

Pull it, take the reset cable out (just pull it out of the speedo) and put that cable into the speedo drive hole and attach a drill to it and spin it COUNTER-CLOCKWISE and see if the needle and odometers work. if they do, it's the main cable or the angle drive in the transmission.
