Hi guys
besides donating them to the trash can, what else can be done with a set of TRW Sabelt
racing harness. Seems like a waste to toss em but they are 30 years old.
thanks
Andy

The car is 50 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Put them in the classifieds for free + shipping if you want. I have out dated belts for mine, no plans for racing on a track. I paid for mine, not much but they are awesome. Just no good for the track.Just a thought

Toss them. Why bother with them? My 75 year old neighbor has so much crap in his garage that even his low mileage 911 is covered with useless stuff. He's a hoarder.

I've thought (briefly in the past) about integrating them somehow, into usable belts for the 914.. something along the lines of, using them as the lap belt section but retain the (smaller diameter) retracting belt/receiver part of the originals. Of course it would mainly be for a vintage aesthetics and also unfortunately, less convenient when time to use. But still kinda cool imho. I may look into it again at some point.. hit me up if you give those belts away.

I’m going to turn a set into a hold down strap for the spare tire in my early 911.

My Niece just paid good money for a clothing type belt that was made from some crappy seatbelt made for a lawnmower or something, I was just saying I need to find someone's out of date racing belt and make her a really cool belt for Christmas!

If the hardware is in good shape, you can get them rewebed.

I have sold a dozen or so sets of these over the years on Ebay. People use them for their vintage car resto projects. Thery usually sell for $50-75 plus shipping.

Autocrossers can’t always use them. Most race organizations have rules, some of them even follow them. I spent my first ten years autocrossing using the same helmet. Then, I went to an SCCA event. Five years is the usual outdated for these.

I’d give them to someone building a go-kart.
