So I had gotten tired of taping up this cardboard box I cobbled together to store my engine lid when I switched from the GT lid to the Rain tray one and back.
So I decided to have a proper box built. There is an Amish cabinet maker that has built some other things for us, and always does a beautiful job. I have a limited space where it is stored and giving him precise dimensions, resulted in the Perfect box. Since I have to lift it at an awkward position Light weight was a high priority. Did also add to the dimensions enough space to accommodate the other lid with the rain tray. I have some eggcrate foam to add as padding. Thought I would share this. @PCA7GGR |

Fitted boxes for parts storage!!!!
Now I have seen it all. Nice looking! If you don't mind sharing, what did that cost? The Amish are "wood whispers". |

So if he is Amish i assume he built it not using anything electrically powered? I live hand built items.

He does have some powered tools in his shop.
I don't remember seeing any electric lights though. No phone, of course. You have to send a letter, or drive out and hope he is at home. |

a bit of cultural information. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
in australia in the 1960s and 70s a box did not mean a box as we understand it today. i don't know american slang history. but for instance in 1980s america a fanny was a backside. and it was the other side referred to with the same word down here in upside down land. i used to find myself shocked by what filthy mouths americans had until i processed what part of the anatomy was being referred to. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) in this instance, let me say that is indeed a very nice box you have had made. but i would still call it a case. in order to avoid.....probably obsolete slang terminology.
